India’s electricity demand continues to outpace GDP growth, requiring substantial investment in transmission and distribution infrastructure. Government plans envisage expansion of the transmission network from around 5 lakh circuit kilometres to nearly 6.5 lakh circuit kilometres by FY32, accompanied by a sharp increase in transformation capacity from approximately 1,429 GVA to over 2,350 GVA.
